The Island
A series of Islands and bridges along route 21, heading east from Beaufort, SC, bring you to Fripp Island. Fripp is a private, guard-gated 3,000 acre community surrounded by pristine marshlands, offering a relaxed atmosphere away from the noise, traffic and pressures of a busy world. Since 1963, the year modern development began, the lush natural sub-tropical beauty and carefully planned amenities have drawn permanent residents, vacationers, second homeowners and even movie makers! (Scenes from "Forest Gump", Disney's "Jungle Book" and "The Prince of Tides" were filmed on Fripp.)

We (Rick & Kerry Friesen) have called Fripp Island "home" since mid 1998, enjoying the modern facilities in a unique setting which makes the Island one of the best kept secrets on the South Carolina coast. Real Estate

Fripp Island real estate offers something for almost everyone, from elegant ocean front homes to very modest efficiency units (Sunsuites). Please remember that Fripp Island is a private gated community with gate guards on duty 24/7/365. Only residents and invited guests are admitted to the Island. You must call us ahead of time in order for us to arrange access to the Island for you. For people new to our Island, we offer information and a very informative tour of the neighborhoods, amenities and various facilities available on the Island.

The Resort

Fripp Island differs from many gated communities in that the amenities and facilities on the Island are owned by a privately held corporation. In order to gain access to those amenities and facilities, property owners must first join the club and pay their dues accordingly. (further information supplied upon request). Amenities include restaurants, swimming pool complexes, the Beach Club, golf, tennis, etc., but does not include the beach! Also, membership is not mandatory. They also operate a rental and maintainence operation to assist property owners who desire to rent their property if they are not utilizing it.
